Enrichment Activities

Three of our aims are to:

  • provide pupils with a broad, balanced, relevant, and progressive education, delivered in a dynamic way;
  • encourage pupils to enjoy learning and become independent, self-motivated learners, achieving the highest standards of which they are capable:
  • provide quality opportunities for pupils to develop as happy, active, healthy, confident, creative individuals;

 

Each year, we organise a range of enrichment activities for our pupils and during 2015 – 2016, these included:

  • creating the publication ‘Giggtastic Gazette’ (Y6)
  • cluster schools’ residential visit to Humphrey Head Outdoor Centre (Y5)
  • visit from Chinese storyteller as part of Settle Storytelling Festival (R – Y6)
  • visit to Settle College Open Day (Y5 & Y6)
  • Bikeability course (Y5 & Y6)
  • hosting a cluster schools’ visit here (Y5)
  • cluster schools’ residential visit to Edinburgh (Y6)
  • cluster schools’ visit to church-based Rewind to Easter and Rewind to Christmas (Y6)
  • cluster schools’ visit to church-based Fast Forward to Secondary School (Y6)
  • hosting a two-week placement for a Spanish teacher (all pupils)
  • cluster schools’ visit to Craven Young Citizen and Crucial Crew (Y6)
  • visit to Blue Pig sausage-making farm (Y3 – Y6)
  • visit to Butterfly House in Lancaster (R – Y2)
